Cornwell Community Church is part of the Anglican Parish of Tilehurst St.Catherine and Calcot St.Birinus.

Cornwell Community Church meets every week in the Cornwell Centre in Home Croft off Clements Mead.  Refreshments are available from 10.30am when we set up and have coffee and cake. The service starts around 11am and lasts for about an hour.  Our All Age Service  is informal and family friendly, with special activities for children (Sunday School).

The Church is run by an elected Leadership and worship is led by congregation members, a Licensed Lay Minister or our Vicar.

Our aims:

To build, maintain and grow a church that is a worshiping caring community based on a common love of Jesus Christ and a desire to do his will.

To reach out with love and friendship to people of all ages in the local community; meeting their spiritual and practical needs, showing the relevance of Christianity to their lives and by our example and teaching draw them into a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ.

Many activities we do together with St.Catherine's, there are groups for children of all ages every week, each month there is Messy Church on the 1st Saturday of the month and when there are  5 Sundays  in the month we have a United Service together. Every Summer we hold an exciting holiday club week.

Together we embrace the Parish Purpose:

To Worship God and show Jesus' love makes a difference in reaching, serving and caring.

Our Parish Purpose is to "Worship God and show that Jesus' love makes a difference in reaching, serving and caring."

Following Jesus is what motivates, strengthens and guides us to do this. Being a church is not just about a building, it is about people in community with a living faith and an ongoing hope.

This website lists the many activities that take place to serve the community as well as the chance to worship God.

St. Catherine's Church Centre is a developing resource for the local neighbourhood in Calcot and Tilehurst. Here in our "Neighbourhood Centre" our congregation seeks to worship God, renew their faith, get a top up and to be encouraged and equipped for living. Here, many community activities take place and help build a better community. We have a particular emphasis on the lonely and isolated and adults with learning disabilities, centred on our new Café facilities.

The worship at St. Catherine's gives you time to think and be inspired in your walk of faith. The congregation aims to be very open to the Spirit and feel and respond to God's presence. There are hymns and songs to enjoy, and good fellowship with others. For many, as one member put it, it is an " alternative home and family".

The former St. Birinus building is now The Empress Road Centre and is run by "The Gate" and there is regular worship and events held there.

The Church is the people not the buildings - so why not come and be inspired in your walk of faith and support others in theirs.
